Sabbath Morning Moment: Love

Today's morning moment comes from Tweeter, Brian Pruett (Thanks for the Re-Tweet, Encourage the Young aka BroLes3 !)

How much do you love one another, and how is this qualified? I was having a conversation with my girl friend yesterday about this very thing. She said sometimes it's best to love them from a distance. But what does this mean? How can you love someone from a distance? This morning as I was getting ready for service, It dawned on me that God will love everyone who doesn't make it into heaven, no more and no less than those who do make it in.
God does not hate the sinner. He hates the sin, and goes to lengths to help us remove the sin out of our lives. But if the sin remains, he has to destroy us  because we are harboring the sin. It's not something He wants to do, but He has to, it's a must to ensure there is not a repeat of what happened before.

In some cases, it's safer to love from a distance. Safer physcally, and emotionally. There are people that need to be kept at more than an arm's length, like exes, frenemies and the abusive.
For some twisted reason, the world has established that if you love someone, that means you'll take anything, any form of treatment from them. But if you loved God, you would exercise the mandate of taking care of his temple, your body by reoving yorself from these stressful and abusive circumstances. And you can let them talk, because at the end of the day, you are doing your Father's business. Forgiving and love does not mean you need to be the chumiest bestest buddy pal with someone who has wronged you. It means, you've forgiven them of ther ACTIOn, but now that you know who they are, you live your life without malice towards them and avoid them.
Looking to Christ as the ultimate example, we see that he had only 12 followers, and one of them back-stabbed Him, the other denied Him, and the others fled. What does that tell us?
You can trust trust no one, not even yourself! Because these disciples said they'd follow Jesus unto death! And then look what happened.

So trash what the world says about love, and for those of you wondering..well I need to show people true love by staying with my cheating wife, or remaining with that dishonest business partner or WHATEVER...Please refresh your memories by reviewing 1 Corinthians 13 and prayerfully ask God for direction.
