Mixtape Monday: Glorious Gospel

So my 2nd Mixtape, The Glorious Gospel According to Her is going to highlight the various aspects of the gospel, redemption, grace, salvation, love and mercy. It is my prayer that they will all lead the listener in a unique experience heavenward.
In the meanwhile, I have noticed several attacks of the enemy. I have seen them for what they are and have been trying to stay focused  on what my goals are... to seek ye first the kingdom of God and all His righteousness. I'll let Him handle the rest.
The Mixtape will feature the vocal and production talents of various female artists such as BBO (Beats by Octavia) , Y-Peezy,  Londie Jae,  Ani Love and Yours Truly.
The Inspiration was borne of a desire to reach out in ministry in a way unique to the female experience and perspective. Don't get it twisted, men can be blessed by the ministry as well. Stay tuned for the release and keep well.

A Moment of Clarity

So, there have been some recent happenings in my life concerning certain friends and I was actually quite confused as to their actions. I prayed about it, and got some answers. Some people just aren't worth being around. The Bible says a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. These people harbor spirits that are unholy. When you interact with these people, they tend to be two faced, presenting an appearance of love and friendship, while they turn a knife in your back, for no other reason than the fact that they can.
The Bible also says, that by your fruits you shall know them. Words mean nothing if actions prove you to  be in opposition to what you're conjecturing.

The Bible also says that we must not reason with a fool lest we ourselves become foolish. Some people aren't worth the argument, debate or discussion and must be cut off as soon as is humanly possible. The Bible states that if your right hand offends thee, cut it off. If you have tried time after time to be friendly with a genuine spirit, only to be met with opposition , hatred and spite, then you must spare your soul the trial and mental anguish by removing that source from your life, whether it be relative, or friend. The Bible syas you can be angry and sin not, so the key here is to yes, have an emotion towards the situation, because you're human. You will be hurt.cry, scream, pray

Finally, these same people who are quick to bring up your past and remind you of the person you used to be. They see how you comport yourself in the present day and believe it impossible for you to be so holy, high and mighty. The Bible says that the devil is an accuser. He is the accuser of the saints. What God has forgiven you, man may try to dig up, but it is irrelevant, because man's record is impoverished in the cleansing blood of God.

Remember this as you navigate the turbulent waters of your life. The Bible is your compass. God is your guide. This is certainly easier said than done, but continue to wrap His words up in your existence, and you will eventually see your trials as triumphs.

Go in, Go Deep Go Hard

Word Out Wednesday

The athlete standing atop the platform looks down toward his watery goal. He mentally rehearses one last time his feat. Plotting out exactly where his aim is, he understands what's riding on his next move... everything. His career is his body and his ability to marry his mind and machine to execute with the most efficicient of precision, his performance. Exactly what will be seen by a captive audience and the panel of judges will be evidenciary proof of the amount of time, effort and sheer determination that has been poured into his craft. He's ready. He leaps. One thought pumped through his blood from his focused mind..."I'm going to go in. I'm going to give it all I've got." He went in, with his whole heart vested, and he pushed, He went ham.

As a young girl I was mesmerized by the graceful iceskaters that slid across the LCD as I. rapt imagine myself to one day be a performer. I wanted nothing more than this although I never had a lesson, lived nowhere close to a skating rink and knew my folks didn't have the wherewithal to provide for such an endaevor. But I could still dream. Then one day the news hit, Michelle Kwan was attacked by Tanya Harding. I couldn't believe it! I Such hate...such mind numbing blinding hate...such audacity! Publicly? I couldn't fathom it, but yet, there it was ...all across the media.

In life there will be performers who are deeply invested in their pssion. And you'll have those who are so consumed by env, hate and jealousy that nothing else but evil consumes them. The mindset to have here is to know that while these people exist, focus on Christ and do you. Go in, give it all. Be aggressive toward your mark. Go in, go deep and go hard.

Focus Up

Don't focus so much on your enemy and on what's going wrong in your life that you neglect the things that are going well for you.
Often, this temptation rears its ugly head. The sin lies not in the temptation, but if we yield to the temptation, then it becomes sin. Some Christians feel guilty for being tempted. This should not be. Let the prayer instead be, help me to overcome and remove the desire to sin from out of my heart. Then the things of this world become strangely dim in the light of God's glory. I've been tempted to look at all my sorrows that were caused as a result of dashed plans, lost loved ones, misplaced affections, misguided reasoning and unaccomplished goals. However, this obsessed me to the point where when I'd complain, close ones would tell me how blessed I was. I absolutely could not see it. I was blinded by regret. I spent so much time looking at at what I thought I had lost, and didn't spend enough looking at what I have gained. Some  of  what God has blessed me with are so marvelous that I fear that it will cause jealousy as it has already have, so certain things I no longer discuss, because the blessing is perceived as a brag. What I can say is that, God can and will prepare you for something if you're willing to focus up and not allow the devil to rob you of the gifts that God has for you.
So don't worry about the promotion you didn't rightfully receive, or how long it has taken you to get into school. Stop looking at the money your friends illegally make. Don't be jealous of them. Take rest in knowing that your time will come where God will move mountains for you. Seek Him first, and embrace what you DO have. Try just five things that are absolute blessings from God that you know you had absolutely nothing to do with getting for yourself. Make a list, save it on your phone and look at it from time to time. Add to it as new blessings arrive. You'll soon realize that your trials were designed to distract you.
Focus Up.

Thumpin' Thursdays- Be Bold and Brag About It

This song is an oldie but also a goodie. Boast has recently been accepted into circulation by the well known, Wutz Hood Radio, Gospel Network. It has been an honor to be accepted into circulation and I'm excited about the possibilities.

The concept of the song emerged froma desire to convey that Christians have alot to be thankful for. Whil ethe world can brag about their riches and wealth and revel in their accomplishments, sinfully acquired,  BOAST reminds us of the true ballers like Job, Moses, Enoch, David, Solomon and many more who were blessed by God in riches, wealth, health, wisdom and eternal life. Christians, open your mouth and BOAST in the Lord!

The next track I'll be working on is Neva U.G.L.Y. The draft version I have is not up to my personal standard for submission. It will be revised and re-recorded for quality. I like the concept, and the collaborative effort by Da-Ro was unmistakably excellent.  I will also be posting it as next week's Song of the Week.

Word Out Wednesday: Be Driven

Word Out Wednesday

Today marks a new beginning for those who claim the name of Jesus.
It's easy to make plans, and even easuer for those plans to fail. Try instead to let go of your own reasoning
and place them in the hands of a God who is able to change your situation for the better. Be unafraid of the attacks of the  enemy, and assure yourself that you are in the right due to the atacks of the enemy.
The wicked prosper not by the Lord, but because the devil also takes care of his own.
Be sure that your self assuredness isn't misplaced, and constantly be in a state of  daily devotion with God.
Ask yourself if your plans are impulses or if they are in keeping with His holy will.
Last but not least, everyone is different. Do not compare yourself to others.
The success of othes may not be due to the hand of God. Your blessig may take longer, but it is YOUR blessing. Embrace it and cherish it. Yeild your will to God's and you will see a manifestation of power not your own. I have a relative who said she likes to drive, but sometimes it feels good to be driven because it's less stressful dealing with all the antics of the road. Today, allow yourself to be driven by the Master.
